EasyTools.ca is a free Canadian online tools website operated by DigitalFix, based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. We provide free calculators, checkers, and generators for Canadians. You can contact us at support@digitalfix.ca.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide: When you use our Contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Information collected automatically: When you visit EasyTools.ca, we may collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is used for security and to understand how visitors use the site.
What we do NOT collect: All calculator and tool inputs (rent amounts, salary figures, mortgage details, passwords generated, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. This data is never sent to our servers, never stored, and never transmitted anywhere.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use EasyTools.ca. Google Analytics collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on site, general geographic location (country/region level), device type, and referral source.
We have enabled IP anonymisation, meaning your full IP address is never stored by Google Analytics.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Cookies
EasyTools.ca uses the following cookies:
Theme preference (et-theme): A localStorage entry that saves your light/dark/system theme preference. This is stored locally in your browser only — never sent to our servers.
Google Analytics cookies: GA4 uses cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and track sessions. These cookies are set by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare Turnstile: Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile CAPTCHA to prevent spam. Cloudflare may set cookies as part of their bot detection. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect the functionality of our calculators, which run entirely in your browser.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to contact form inquiries
- Understand how visitors use our tools (via anonymised analytics)
- Improve and maintain the website
- Detect and prevent abuse or spam
- Comply with legal obligations
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate the site:
- Google LLC — Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
- Cloudflare Inc. — CAPTCHA (Turnstile) and DNS/CDN services
7. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained in our email inbox for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, then deleted.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, as configured in our GA4 property.
Web server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
8. Your Rights (PIPEDA)
As a Canadian resident, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent to collection or use of your information
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
9. Children's Privacy
EasyTools.ca is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Our tools may contain links to external websites (such as the Ontario LTB, CRA, and other government resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, server-side rate limiting, CAPTCHA on forms, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of EasyTools.ca after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
